Job/Apprentice/Drug Free Coordinator
Ray
For the past 31 years I have dedicated my life to building and molding young students while in the classroom. I began my career as a Comprehensive Business Education teacher in the Adult Education department at Pickaway-Ross CTC. After 3 years, I moved to the high school side where I taught High Skill Steno for 5 years. I then taught 17 years as a satellite teacher at one of our feeder schools working with at-risk students in an OWE/CBI program. For the past 5 years I have been the Job/Apprenticeship Coordinator at Pickaway-Ross setting up apprenticeships and building a job base to feed our students into for work experience. Three years ago we developed a Drug Free Clubs of America chapter at Pickaway-Ross CTC to promote a "drug free" life-style for our students and at the same time provide drug free employees to our partners who hire our students. We are going into our third year of having a Drug Free Clubs chapter. The first year we had 243 students sign up to be in the program. Last year we had 384 students, which is about 64% of our total population. This year our goal is to have over 70% of our students sign up to commit to be drug free!
