Ohio Quality Program Standards for Career-Technical Education Programs is a versatile set of guidelines that should be used for annual reviews and continuous program improvement by CTE program administrators, advisory committees, and instructors. It is essential to ensure the collection of accurate and appropriate data to provide evidence of the level to which the Standards are addressed prior to application of the Standards to programming. However, the Standards themselves do not provide direction for this initial and vital step. This session will present the rationale behind and development of a scoring rubric that can help assess the readiness of a program for review with regards to the provision of adequate data and evidence. An extended example using three of the ten standards will illustrate how the Standards are broken down in terms of the evidence that needs to be collected for each quality indicator and how the scoring rubric is applied. This methodology provides a relatively simple process that improves accuracy and saves time.
