What’s Your E? TCTC’s Approach to Career Advising and College and Career Readiness for All Students

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

TCTC’s ‘What’s Your E?’ campaign is a schoolwide approach to college and/or career readiness that helps all students be successful on their pathway towards Enrollment, Enlistment or Employment after graduation.  This presentation will highlight the initiatives implemented at TCTC at both the whole school and classroom level to support and reinforce our 3E campaign. These initiatives include E panels, E 'help' sessions, whole school career advising activities, individual and classroom lessons/projects, Signing Day, How to Adult, etc. We will also demonstrate the importance of branding to promote staff and student buy in.  Finally, we will share the impact this campaign has had on our former and current students and our school culture.

With students from twenty home schools in Trumbull County, the simplicity and visibility of our 3E campaign unites students in the shared goal of becoming successful adults.  This unity extends to the staff, as the campaign inspires teachers to create innovative classroom projects and directly connect content with students’ future plans.  Our 3E initiative has better equipped students with the support they need for their next steps after graduation, and we notice that our students are committed to their goals sooner, taking an active approach to their E.  Preliminary evidence indicates that students are having better post-placement outcomes, as more students are actively pursuing education or the military, or more students are employed in jobs related to their TCTC program.
